Hawke SB 474 cable glands are suitable for both outdoor ａnd indoor use.

For particular use with:-
a) Cable inner sheaths that are not effectively filled, compact and/or circular, have tape bedding or have hygroscopic fillers.
b) Cables that exhibit ‘cold flow’ characteristics.
c) Enclosures for gas group IIC, under 2 litres in volume ａnd containing an ignition source.
d) Enclosures for gas groups IIA or IIB, which are greater than 2 litres in volume ａnd contain an ignition source

Hawke SB 474 cable glands are dual certified Exd ａnd Exe ａnd suitable for installation in Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 21, Zone 22 ａnd in Gas Groups IIA, IIB ａnd IIC.

When used in increased safety applications the Hawke cable gland can be used to terminate braided cables where the braid ａnd the cable outer sheath enter into the electrical enclosure or junction box.

Metric entry threads are 1.5mm pitch as standard.
# NPT female thread sizes equivalent to those shown in the table for the male thread size are available. Hexagon dimensions as shown may alter.

Cembre cable lugs available to crimp ａnd terminate cable conductors to ensure complete termination of cable.

CABLE GLAND MATERIAL & FINISH

Hawke SB 474 cable glands are manufactured in Brass (standard), Nickel Plated Brass, 316 Stainless Steel or Aluminium. Brass NPT entries are nickel plated as standard.

PREPARING CABLE & GLAND FOR INSTALLING HAWKE SB 474

CABLE PREPARATION

Pull sufficient length ‘I’ of cable through conduit/cable gland to suit equipment. Screw backnut (1) on to pre-threaded conduit/cable gland ａnd tighten with spanner/wrench.

CABLE GLAND PREPARATION

Select the correct punch tool to suit conductor sizes (see table) ａnd punch out the required number of holes in the seal using the indented bs as a guide. Pass the individual conductors through the appropriately sized punched holes in the seal (4) ensuring they are not twisted or kinked ａnd slide down to backnut (1).
